How does remission work

Read more in how remission works below.

1. You submit a request for remission at GBLT

This can be done digitally, through Mijn Loket. If you cannot access 'Mijn Loket ' then you can request a remission form by telephone. To do so call us at 088-064 55 55.

Log into Mijn Loket

2. GBLT will send you a confirmation of receipt

For a digitally submitted request, this is within one day. For a request submitted on paper, this is within 10 days.

3. We will give you a payment deferral

While your request is being processed you do not have to pay the tax assessment. We will automatically give you a payment deferral for this period.

4. GBLT takes your personal and financial situation into consideration

When you request remission, we also take into account:

  • The types of tax for which you can get remission.
  • The rules and conditions for remission.
  • The standard amounts for remission.
Do your income and expenses exceed these amounts? Then you will not qualify for remission.

In case of automatic processing of your request, with the help of the Intelligence Bureau, we check your data with the following agencies:

  • The Dutch Tax and Customs Administration (Belastingdienst).
  • The National Road Transport Agency (RDW).
  • The Employee Insurance Agency (UWV).

5. Within 13 weeks you will receive a letter from us

This letter will state either that:

  • You do or do not qualify for remission.

or

  • We require additional information from you. For example, we could ask you to send or upload bank or income statements. Upload the required information within 14 days.

6. Did we ask for additional information?

The we will send you the decision on your request within thirteen weeks. Even if you did not send the requeste additional information.
